Cafecito, 6 a.m.
A portrait of my father's love: Cafecito at 6 AM every morning, beautiful descriptions of his homeland, farm, and the way he cared for his plants recreating for himself that familiar smell of earth. He was a bloom-where-you-are-planted kind of guy.

Dreaming
This painting was inspired by my childhood memories on my grandmother’s ranch, and my longing to once again experience the beauty of its landscape. The profile of a girl in a traditional Cuban headdress is a tribute to the Cuban artists I was exposed to as a teenager in Miami. It’s a nostalgic representation of a bygone era. The unwinding headdress symbolizes my hope for freedom of thought and action for the people of Cuba.
